Club Level Evaluation Speech Contest 2011

We had a club level Evaluation Speech Contest on 6th September at Premier Hotel with 8 Toastmasters of all ranks rose up to take up the challenge to evaluate our secret speaker, which was TM Lau Ing Kiiung with his topic on "Printer Cartridges".

ACB, ALB Peter KB Lau and CC Mohd. Hisham both emerged as 2nd and 1st Runner Up respectively. And the champion was our own legendary Eva King, ATMS Peter IY Lau.

Let's look forward to our next contest which is on the 13th September for the Humorous Speech Contest and prepare to win our club's forte; Evaluation & Humorous Speech on Area and District Level. Scaling greater heights!

Raya Open House 2011

This year's Raya Sibu Toastmasters organized several open house visitations to fellow Toastmasters to celebrate the festivity. We would like to see more open houses for other festive events to build up our camaraderie, as well as more chicken curries. 

Evaluation Clinic

Our evaluation clinic last Thursday was fruitful. Novice learn to do evaluation, senior refresh their evaluation skill. Hope to see more this kind of clinic in future. And above is a video of George showing his evaluation prowess in an evaluation test-run.

Toastmasters Leadership Institute Seminar 1

We had a TLI (Part 1) seminar at Pan Chen-Lau's Clan Association, Sibu on 28th July, 2011. Both English and Mandarin session was conducted at the same time with the attendance from all four Sibu clubs; Sibu Toastmasters, Swancity, Mandarin and Lau's Clan Toastmasters club.

TLI Educational Seminar Part 2 will be conducted somewhere in December this year and we look forward to another great or even full participation from fellow officers and Toastmasters alike.
